Introducing - ND BrainSpace
I love meeting fellow ND people – something feels different for me. When I meet people who can follow my tangents, build on ideas with me, echo my enthusiasm, and understand my empathy, I feel comfortable, accepted, and able to be myself.
For others, it might be a shared sense of justice, a mutual dislike of small talk, or an appreciation for limited eye contact that draws them together.
My person-centred training taught me that if you create the right conditions, people will naturally move towards growth and development. I’ve seen it time and again: when people feel accepted, supported, and truly heard, they begin to flourish.
That’s the spirit behind ND BrainSpace – not to fix something that’s broken, but to create the kind of environment where neurodivergent people can come together, share strengths, and tackle common challenges side by side.
What it means to me
Connection
When you connect with people who “get it,” something shifts. That pressure to mask fades slightly. You realise you’re not alone.Sharing and learning
Each lived experience carries wisdom. Maybe it’s a small trick, maybe it’s a boundary that works, maybe a bedtime routine that calms the nervous system. When we share those, we all get stronger.Growth and empowerment
It’s not about “fixing” – it’s about uncovering what works for you, building tools, trying things out, noticing what helps, tweaking as needed.Thriving, not just surviving
Life’s soundtracks are tough sometimes, but there’s more in there than hardship. There’s creativity, humour, resilience. ND BrainSpace is about helping those parts of us (yes, even the messy ones) to grow, to stretch, to find sparkle.
Where we’re going – first steps
Over the coming months, here’s what we’re focusing on:
1st October – Anxiety
How does neurodivergence shape anxiety, and what really helps us manage it?5th November – Wellbeing
So many ideas out there… which actually make a difference in everyday life?2nd December – Surviving the Holiday Season
How do we find rest, joy, and peace when the festive period feels overwhelming?
We’ll be meeting at Tyler House, from 7:00–8:30pm. It’s free to attend, with hot drinks, biscuits (and lots of kindness).
Come along to ND BrainSpace
If this sounds like your kind of space, I’d love you to join us. Whether you want to share, listen, or simply be in a room where neurodivergent experiences are celebrated — there’s a seat for you.
