Burnout, Boundaries & Energy Management

Feeling constantly exhausted isn't always about doing too much. For many neurodivergent adults, burnout can build over time through masking, sensory overload, people pleasing, unmet needs and trying to keep up with expectations that don't fit how our brains work.

Boundaries and energy management play an important role in protecting our wellbeing, but they're not always easy to recognise or put into practice. Many of us have spent years pushing through, saying yes when we meant no, or feeling guilty for needing rest.

This month we'll explore burnout, boundaries and energy management through a neurodivergent lens. Together we'll share experiences, recognise the signs that we're running low, and discuss practical ways to protect our energy without feeling like we're letting others down.

We'll explore

Common experiences

Feeling exhausted even after resting, masking, sensory overload, emotional overwhelm, people pleasing, difficulty saying no, guilt, losing motivation, reduced capacity, and struggling to recognise your limits before reaching burnout.

🛠️ What can help

Recognising your early warning signs, understanding what drains and restores your energy, setting realistic boundaries, pacing yourself, communicating your needs, building recovery into your routine, and letting go of unrealistic expectations.

Together we'll ask

💭 What tends to drain your energy the most?

💭 How do you know when you're approaching burnout?

💭 What boundaries or changes could help protect your energy?

Whether you're diagnosed, self-identified, or simply curious about neurodivergence (ADHD, autism, dyslexia and more), ND BrainSpace is for you.
